I am unable to login to the portal using IE 7 and I get a Java script error

Symptoms

If you see an error such as :-

Line: 320
Char: 3
Error: Element not found.
Code: 0

Reason
This is because a GWT (google Web Toolkit) application is not working properly on the particular machine.

Solution
To fix the problem, please try the following steps:-

Login as Administrator
Open the registry editor by typing "regedit" without quotes from the command prompt
Look for the key named HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1\0\win32
Click on the "Default" row and see the value there. The value may be set incorrectly to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocvw.dll"which causes the issue.
Edit the value and change it to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieframe.dll".
Close all IE 7 windows
Start IE7 again and try to login to the portal.
