After you have successfully removed Dimdim Publisher plugin, you might still see the Dimdim Publisher plugin in Ad-Ons. There are could be two reasons,
- Firefox is not responding properly or Firefox went to a hung state.
Solution:
Terminate the Firefox application, start Firefox in a clean way and check Ad-on plugins for the Dimdim Publisher. You can terminate the application's running processes in a way, depending on your operating system:
Use the Task Manager:
* Windows Vista: "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" -> "Processes" (or right-click the Taskbar and select "Task Manager -> Processes")
* Windows XP: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" -> "Processes" (or right-click the Taskbar and select "Task Manager -> Processes")
* Windows NT/2000: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" -> "Task Manager -> Processes".
* Windows 95/98/ME: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete".
In the list of running processes, look for "firefox.exe", "thunderbird.exe", "mozilla.exe" or "seamonkey.exe" (whichever applies) and terminate, if found. Note that multiple instances may exist so you should carefully check through the processes list and end each one. For more information, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Kill_application
- There is a chance that the outdated Dimdim plug-in files are still available in the Firefox plug-in folder. You need to remove outdated Dimdim plugin files from the Firefox plugins folder.
Solution:
- In the Firefox Location bar, enter about:plugins.
- Check if the Dimdim plugin is detected. If detected, Dimdim plugin's is not uninstalled.
- If you find Dimdim plugin files listed in the about:plugins as “Dimdim Web Meeting Publisher Firefox Plugin”, that means that the Firefox plug-in folder contains outdated Dimdim plug-in files which should be removed.
