View Full Version : DimDim still inadequate
I have been telling people about DimDim, but that's going to stop. I still find it inadequate. It has potential, but it's not being fulfilled. Just now I was trying to make some changes to preferences and can't find any docs to answer some of my questions. The user guide does not exist. You click on that link on the Resource page and it just takes you to some page that has nothing about a user guide on it. DimDim seems to think these video tutorials are the thing and sometimes they may be fine, but they don't seem to understand that good docs can get you an answer quicker than a video that you have to sit through in the hopes it addresses your issue in enough detail to answer the question (if it addresses it at all). The last time I used the invitation feature, DimDim failed to send them out, but there was no notification of that. Also, look at these forums. Hardly any traffic. That tells me a lot.
I can get a free Microsoft Live Meeting account. Guess which service I'll be using in the future?

I get your point about the document being helpful and will forward it to our marketing team. When we started the idea was that the product should be so simple to use that it would need no documentation. As features get added though it becomes very tough to retain the simplicity. As for the question on the invites not going out a trouble ticket has been raised and we will respond to you through that.

There is no such thing, especially in regards to software, as a program that is so simple that it needs no docs. That, however, can be overcome with quick, accurate support. Unfortunately I have already had to cancel a webinar because I could not get the attendees off of hold! I used skype, the website, the phone number.... everything - and could not get support.
You can get a way little or no support if you have great docs. You can get away with little or no docs if you have great support. Having neither puts DimDim on the "would not recommed list" for me as well. Unfortunately I have one webinar already scheduled - I hope nobody wants to dial in!
What happened to the 24/7 Crisis support that is boasted at the top of every page????

Docs are definitely needed. I searched and searched, and watched a couple of videos but can't find any info on what the Assistant link under the tools menu is supposed to do, let alone how one would go about using it.
Now we have a meeting today, and are discovering that no one got an email using the invites. It also is looking like they are not getting a confirmation email when registering via the widget.

We had an issue with our email invites late last week and emails were not reaching the invitees. This has now been fixed.
For this meeting if you go to the meeting under Upcoming meetings and click on Edit and then Options - you can see the entire invitee list and can send them the meeting join URL - available on the same box.
I regret the inconvenience caused
