I have a dimdim Pro account and am trying to integrate it in my application. I have thoroughly read and understood your integration guide (for hosted and open source versions) and a feature that is very critical for me is to have unique conference keys for each individual meeting session. I was planning to provide the unique conference keys for the sessions when I start/join the session using the URL, however I also need to have my own customization on the meeting.

Now I understand that in order to get my customized branding I will need to start the session by providing my credentials in the URL, however it does not allow me to have my own conference key for that session (customized). It looks like the conference key is always the email address that was set in the 'Preferences' section of 'My DimDim'. How do I customize the conference key variable for each of my dimdim Pro sessions? Is there a restrictions on what parameters are configurable or not for DimDim Pro? If so, what are they?

Please do not respond back with the link to the integration document pdf as I have already read it many times and it does not say anything about conference keys for PRO sessions with credentials provided in the URL.

Thanks,
Harshil

I thought a pro account comes with a 24 hours support response? It is definitely more than 24 hours since the question was posted and I do not see any response from DimDim yet....is DimDim not honoring that agreement anymore?

Hello Harshil,
I apologize for the late response.
I understand you are looking at modifying the Dimdim Meeting Key on a per meeting basis. Currently the Dimdim Meeting Key is tied to the Dimdim Id and we do nto allow multiple Dimdim Meeting Keys for the same Dimdim Id. This is an enhancement which is under consideration.
Please note the Conference Key is not the Email set in the Preferences, it is the Dimdim Id. In your case your Dimdim ID is the same as your email id which may be leading to this illusion.

Are you trying to secure the meeting by modifying the key on a per-meeting basis? The next version of the product - 4.0 will allow you to specify an Attendee Meeting Key which will act as an additional layer of security.

Please let me know if you would like to try out the 4.0 release to ensure it meets your needs and I can provide you with the necessary access.

Regards,
Uday

Uday,

I would definitely like to 4.0 version and since you have the attendee meeting key feature I would assume that the recording/playback of the meetings will also be available based on the meeting keys as well. Please send me an email at harshil1110 [at] gmail dot com.

Thanks,
Harshil
