Hello to all DimDimians,
First, I would like to say good job to the developers of this application! It is about time someone gave Webex some competition.
I've been working with Webex, Livemeeting, and Logmein for years - and all of them have some pro's and cons.
One of the biggest advantage of Logmein is the ability to quickly and easily take over an attendees desktop - they are really geared for support - you have full control over their desktop, automatic screen resizing, and you can select the color depth to better control bandwidth usage. Features that would put DimDim on the map for support remote support:
One click remote control - once the host has requested remote control of the attendee, the attendee should get a pop-up and just be able to answer yes/no for the remote request.
File transfer - have a SIMPLE way to send files to attendees (and attendees to host).
Auto-reconnect on reboot - Once remote access feature is complete, use the runonce registry (for windows anyway) to relaunch the attendees session with the host, so that the host can remotely reboot the PC and have the PC reconnect without end-user intervention (very nice to have for remote support).
Share application - Self explanatory - be able to share a specific application instead of the whole desktop.
Outlook integration - A fast, lightweight outlook integration is critical if you are going to win in the enterprise. It should be like the rest of your products - "it just works" - this is Livemeetings weakness. It works ok once it's installed, but getting it configured is a major pain.
Good luck! I look forward to this product maturing and becoming a major player. You're off to a great start.
Brett
